Hondo problem

Postby Ghia on Mon Nov 02, 2009 1:42 pm

Hi,
Love the mod, it is more of an expansion than a mod imho. Some small details I would have liked to change, but all around it plays well.
That is, until now.. I've never had any buggy gameplay in Oblivion, KotN, SI or any of the other large mods I've played. Now I'm at a loss. I'm in Hondo, in the big 'final' room with the 2 doors that need remote opening. Found the button behind the table in the 'downstairs' section, hear the grating noise that implies the doors are opening...but no, they are not open and will not open. Both doors keep insisting they must be opened remotely. Am I missing something, or what's up ? Any way to get past the problem ?
I could go back to a save before I entered Hondo and see if that helps, just confused about the strange bug (?)...

Well, I tried the save from before entering Hondo. The problem remains.

There are two doors. Each door is control by a differnt switch or button. These are located on the back of the alters on the lower section. They are the two that are on opposite ends of the raised area, but right by the raised area. Start on the upper section, where the raise walkways go to the center section. There is a stair that goes down to the lower level. Straight ahead is an alcove like area that has an alter. The is a button or switch on the back side of that alter.

Now, the second alter that has the switch or button is on the exact opposite side of that raised area from where you that first alter is. Once you press both buttons, you should be able to access the center of the raised area.

ahhh...that solved it ! What threw me was the fact that I thought one button opened both doors and didn't think to look for another. A bit of an unusual arrangement, usually one button opens one door. Oh well...I did a "workaround" by using tcl. *G*

Now I'm confused about saving Ashemanu...the 'enchanted' black cuirass didn't work at all, so I had to kill every black armour. Came out the other side (main gate) without having seen Alexander or Ashemanu...*sigh*

EDIT : Arghh...I wasn't even IN Alexanders keep, I was in Fort Mourngrim. It too has an entrance through caves to the north...
